I'm new to this group.

There's been a few topics on different blink boards about this subject.

The place I used to live, made me feel like a tourist
I couldn't coexist with the cold and suspicious
When the last remaining light was starting to filter
It seemed the perfect time to step into the future

Your heart is a grave to be perfectly honest
Your mouth's a smoking gun
And you smile while your twisting the knife in my stomach
Until everything is gone
Take all you can from me
I've got weak constitution
I'm led so easily
So easily

I left it all behind, in the dead of last winter
I left it all behind, but the question still lingers
So long forgotten friends, no, you don't know the difference
Between love and submission, and I'm not that obedient

Your heart is a grave, to be perfectly honest
Your mouth's a smoking gun
And you smile while your twisting the knife in my stomach
Until everything is gone

Take all you can from me
I've got weak constitution
I'm led so easily
So easily

And she's trying to sleep it off
With her head on my shoulder
And I'm trying to keep it out
Of my thoughts when I hold her (Take all you can from me)
And I'm trying to sleep it off
With her head on my shoulder (I'm led so easily)
And I'm trying to keep it out
Of my thoughts when I hold her

Your heart is a grave, to be perfectly honest
Your mouth's a smoking gun
And you smile while your twisting the knife in my stomach
Until everything is gone
Take all you can from me
I've got weak constitution
I'm led so easily
So easily

Do you think that Lillian is code for Tom?
I have a feeling it's about how Mark was totally in love with Tom, and then Tom just left him.
I mean how could it not be????
Mark wrote this in a such a romantic way.
Thoughts?

Mark mentioned that Lillian is about the darkest part of a person - or something similar, it was about two years ago. It's possible. When I first heard WYHSB, I thought a lot of the songs (naturally) had Tom-links, in terms of slash. Of course, I read that into everything anyway.

And I'm trying to keep it out of my thoughts when I hold her, is my favorite line, and when you think about it, it's probably the one that best goes with the whole theory, outside of, you know, "I left it all behind in the dead of last winter."

I always think that too! It's like, what? Are you still pulling material from your high school days? Really? I mean, they don't have too many problems in their marriages because they're just a front, right?

MarkxTom

I definitely think that song is about the end of Blink/Tom. The whole When the last remaining light was starting to filter, It seemed the perfect time to step into the future line always gets me. Because Tom really did choose an irresponsible time to leave (when they were about to play a relief show!). Like, he chose the worst time to "step into the future" with AvA.
